JOB OFFER: WE ARE LOOKING FOR A HORSE CARETAKER / ALLROUNDER FOR OUR RED CARIBOO RESORT IN BRITISH COLUMBIA
The Red Cariboo Resort is looking for a horse caretaker/all-rounder from August 2025 onwards.
Would you like to work with horses in the Canadian wilderness? Do you like being outside? Are you good with people and not afraid to get dirty? Then, our guests and the Red Cariboo team look forward to meeting you!
You work with and on the horses (riding out, working in the riding arena, etc.; see details below). For this voluntary work, we pay an allowance of $1000 per month for your food. Accommodation is provided free of charge. In addition, there is a share of the profits for booked rides and often tips from the guests.
We may need your support, such as housekeeping, making/stacking firewood, serving as waiters from summer onwards, simple help in the kitchen, etc. We pay $18.10 for this working time, including statutory holidays, plus 4% holiday pay.
Do you enjoy living and working in the pristine and remote Anahim Lake / BC wilderness region? If you can work in a team, learn, and are enthusiastic, committed, reliable, and friendly, please get in touch with us.
Knowing that your living costs are much lower in our remote area than in a city like Vancouver or an area with much more infrastructure is essential.

After your shifts or during your weekends, you have time to do a lot of sightseeing, hiking, relaxing at the lake, fishing in the canoe, or riding one of our horses. During the wintertime, you can go ice fishing or cross-country skiing, and even a small ski hill is nearby. Everything is possible out here. Having the time of your life is guaranteed!
For employment with us, you need a valid work permit and a SIN number. For more information about “work and travel” in Canada, click here.
Please remember that we are located in a remote region, Anahim Lake, BC. Take a look at the map and keep that in mind when applying. The nearest town is Williams Lake, which is about 320 km away. The resort has limited Wi-Fi and interrupted cell service.
We try to hire everyone in their own profession. However, applicants must agree to learn and perform activities that are not in their core competencies.
If you are suitable for this job and would like to work in almost untouched nature, where elk and grizzly bears are common, we look forward to receiving your application (cover letter, CV, picture, certificates, etc.) by email.
If you have any questions or would like to have some more information, do not hesitate to contact us any time.
